The beginning...dun dun dun.

So after much pressure from various friends, I am resurrecting my blog. My blog has been dead for about four years, and I feel that I have missed out on recording good years of my life because of its death. I, however, have decided to change that fact and keep a good record of my last semester and a half of undergrad.

So here goes:

My Econ classes started again today, hence my clever, or not so clever, title for my blog. Since I have been in college, I have learned many, many things. One thing that I have learned over the past five years of my life is that I hate "kiss-asses." I use the term "kiss-ass" for lack of a better word. After class had concluded, a huge gaggle of students gathered around my professor. One girl chose to "re-introduce" herself to my professor because she had him in a previous class. This, to me, translates into "Hey, I really want you to know my name so that I will get that A in this class and ultimately keep my 4.2 GPA." Another kid, and I say kid because that's what he looked like, introduced himself to my professor and said that he had decided to take the class for pleasure because another business professor had recommended the class. He then proceeded to inform my professor that he had taken Econ 308 and "thoroughly enjoyed it." Ahhh! Gag me. I have two questions: 1) Who takes Econ 309 for pleasure? and 2) Who tells the professor that? I have decided that people like this lack essential social skills that are emphasized in college and that they will always have that elitist attitude when it is not warranted. I have a pretty good relationship with this particular professor and we have spent several minutes having conversations about our similar family situations and whatnot. He has specifically told me that students like that bother him. Ha! Dr. Leathers, they bother me too.

Anyway...

I had to get that off my chest. I'm thoroughly enjoying my White Hot Chocolate from Java City here in Gorgas. I think that is one thing I will miss whenever I do not attend this University anymore. Speaking of, I think I have decided to try to attend UAH for graduate school and start on my master's in math and then try to get into UA Law in the Fall of 2010. If that falls through, I think I will either try to get a job after my master's, or start a PhD. program in Math. It is really overwhelming, but I think that I could do it once I got back in the groove of higher math.

In other news, I have found my perfect engagement ring at Fincher & Ozment here in Tuscaloosa. Here is a link to a picture of it, but the one I like will have a radiant cut diamond in the center instead of the cushion cut in the picture:
